Greatest HVAC Entry Level Job EVER

Only 2.5% of people get this job.

Are you one of the best?

Let us train you to be an HVAC Technician!

Are you hoping to avoid the dreaded “desk job?”

Are you the friend who puts their all into every project you do? Do you like to set the bar high?

Want to get your foot in the door with a company that rewards achievements?

Do you like working with your hands? Not afraid of dirt and spiders?

Is it easy for you to make new friends?

If you couldn't stop nodding your head, you may qualify as a Morris-Jenkins “Tech Builder” Trainee.

And you don't pay us. We pay you. Yes, you read that correctly. We pay you to learn.

Why do we pay you while you’re training? Because we want you to be able to focus on your studies, not on your bills.

“Tech Builder” is just the title we give our trainees until they graduate as HVAC Maintenance Technicians. Training takes about 10 weeks. And when you graduate, you'll know more than you would have learned in a whole year in trade school. We provide you with an extraordinary teacher and a state-of-the-art, equipment-filled classroom.

This isn't a class for the faint of heart. Not only must you be willing to brave crawl spaces and attics, but you also need to have the undying drive to succeed. You aren't satisfied until you've done your very best (and your best gets better every day).

No experience necessary. “Entry-level” means you don't have to have experience; just the right aptitude and attitude. The right aptitude means you're good at working with your hands, and the right attitude means you work well with colleagues and customers. As a trained technician, you'll know what's best for customers, and it'll be your job to guide them to making that right choice.

Morris-Jenkins Tech Builder trainees come from all kinds of backgrounds. We have air conditioning and heating techs who used to work in education, some who were cops, and others who were massage therapists… You name it! Your background is part of who you are today, but it doesn’t have to dictate who you're going to be tomorrow.

This is your chance for change.

To you, work is a competition with yourself, and you know that growth requires change. As a technician, the achievement possibilities are endless

Upon your graduation from the Tech Builder program, you’ll become a Carolina hero. If you’re from the Carolinas, you know the disgusting stickiness of a hot summer when the air is so thick with humidity that you feel like you’re drowning and the leather seats of your car make that horrible sound as you peel your legs away. You open your front door, ready for that refreshing blast of cool air. But you’re hit with another wall of heat: your AC is broken.

Are you beginning to understand the ability to fix air conditioners makes you a Carolina hero?

Don’t be surprised when the customer brings you lemonade.

Morris-Jenkins offers compensation far beyond most other companies. After those ten weeks of Tech-Builder training, we’ll start paying you even more. Many of our Tech-Builder graduates are now making more than $100k a year.

Morris-Jenkins takes good care of its people. And we've got nearly 500 of them.

Medical, Dental, Vision, Long & Short-Term Disability, Life, and Accident and Cancer Insurance with FSA/HSA, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan are all available. We don’t want you to worry about anything other than fixing the air conditioner so that our customer – your customer – can be comfortable again.

You already have a driver’s license. Let us give you a company vehicle and a gas card. This job is sounding better and better, right?

In addition, you’ll get lots of paid time off and 7 paid holidays each year to spend however you want.

Your uniforms are free, and so is your laundry service.

As long as you work at Morris-Jenkins, your training and development will never stop. Even our most experienced HVAC technicians benefit from this ongoing training. Best of all, if ever you feel stuck and aren't sure what to do, you can reach out to a whole building full of amazing people who will help you in any way they can because they want you to succeed. When you're in a customer's home, you're representing all of us, so we've always got your back.

Morris-Jenkins received the Charlotte Observer’s Top Workplace Award in 2016, 2018, and 2019 because we're honest about what we provide. This is a really great place to work.

No degree or experience is necessary, but homebodies wouldn’t like this job. Tight crawlspaces, ladders, snakes, spiders, and occasional awkward confrontations with customers are all things our technicians face on the job. The men and women of Morris-Jenkins are a brave bunch, but they don’t let that harden their lovable personalities. The most successful technicians are the ones that form the best customer relationships.

What will you do after you’re hired?

  • You’ll participate in classes and labs where you’ll build the foundational knowledge you need to get started.
  • You'll go from no HVAC experience to HVAC pro in only ten weeks!
  • You’ll ride along with real Morris-Jenkins technicians. It’ll be like riding in a van with Future You.
  • You’ll graduate and become a Maintenance Technician, which allows you to start helping people with their HVAC problems, including fixing/replacing heat pumps, gas systems, and air conditioning units.

Your resume and application are great, but is it really fair to assume a piece of paper truly captures YOU? We don’t think so. As a part of your application, you must complete a Sparkhire one-way video interview! It’s short, simple, and surprisingly fun!

Ready to make a change for the better?

You are? We were hoping so!

There’s an empty space in our next Tech Builder class, starting August 4th, 2020—is it yours?
